Nantong Color Jinxiu Non-intervening Groups Study (1959-1996),

The four most famous embroideries and other relevant embroideries have beenconstantly paid general attention and deeply studied by scholars. However, as a kindof local color in Jiangsu and Nantong, the modern embroidery------the colored satinembroidery doesn’t get enough attention. The creation and the development of thecolored satin embroidery is an innovation based on the traditional embroidery. Notonly dose the colored satin embroidery have characteristics of age and regional humanvalues, but also have high art and aesthetic value. In June2010, the colored satinembroidery was listed in the second batch of Nantong intangible cultural heritageprojects. In September2011, it was also listed in the third batch of Nantong intangiblecultural heritage projects. It has been proved that the colored satin embroidery alreadyis getting more social attention and recognition.The paper tries to primarily establish the database about the creative group andworks of the colored satin embroidery, through the study on the creative group andworks of the colored satin embroidery. In addition, it reveals the characteristics of thecreative group from multiple perspectives and the course of innovation development,in order to do some basic work for the application of the intangible cultural heritageand the present and future development of the colored satin embroidery.The paper is composed by seven chapters. The first chapter is to outline the topicbackground, the concept definition, literature studies and so on. The second chapter isto discuss the background of the creative group from the aspects of economics,profession, humanities, etc, and analyze the conditions that the creative group dependson. The third chapter is to retrospect the forming and the development course of thecreative group and the colored satin embroidery to analyze the factors and conditionsof the group development from the horizontal and the vertical angles on the divisionsof developing stages and characteristics. The fourth chapter is to study thecharacteristics of the creative group and inheriting. It also analyzes the relationshipbetween the designers in the creative group and making arts, as well as the pedigree ofinheritance and the inheritance way. The fifth chapter is to analyze the innovativecharacteristics of the creative group and design characters from the formation andcharacteristics of the creative group and its technology and design methods. The sixthchapter is to analyze the individual characteristics of the creative group from the pointof individual cases bases on the typical figures in the creative group and their works.The last part is the conclusion of the paper. It gets the cognition of the creative groupthrough the deep investigation, the literature research and the above six chapters. Andit reveals and discusses the study on the creative group from many aspects toenlighten the colored satin embroidery and the development the modern handicraft.Finally, it puts forward some constructive ideas for the prospect of the colored satinembroidery.
