The Study Of Traditional Lu Embroidery Art And Its Design Applications

Traditional Lu embroidery art has a long history in our country, which is of extremely richcontent and strong color of traditional culture, reflecting the colorful folk culture of Qilu area indifferent historical period. As an important part of Chinese embroidery art, traditional Luembroidery is mostly a simple and free expression of women to meet the spiritual needs of theirdaily life. Lu embroidery not only has a special decoration style and regional languages, but alsohas great decoration effect and unique aesthetic qualities. Lu embroidery’s unique aestheticcharm is bound to return to people’s field of vision, lead a local design trend and pass down theLu embroidery culture of a thousand year’s accumulation. Based on the on-the-spot investigationof the current situation of Lu embroidery’s inheritance, the author tries to analyze a large numberof existing works from the perspective of the process, the color and design modeling. In view ofthe problems of the inheriting development model, the author tries to explore and put forwarddevelopmental protection methods and suggestions. Finally, the author extracts designingelements of the existing works and applies to the designing practice, which aims to integratefemale emotion and cultural connotation of Lu embroidery art into modern life, to thus be betterapplied to contemporary product design, and to explore and analyze Lu embroidery’s futureinheritance of “authenticity”.
