Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama, the most outstanding representative in Chinese local and classical drama respectively, have acquired outstanding achievement in their own fields. Yuan drama, flourished in Yuan dynasty, is the first mature drama in the history of Chinese literature, and has been complimented by the later scholars for its artistic charm of vulgar literature. Meanwhile, Yuan dynasty produced a great influence on Ming Qing opera, romance and other traditional opera. As one of the ancient local operas in China, Shaanxi opera is originated from Shaanxi and Gansu province (ancient Qin area). It has been found that there are many classical repertoires of Yuan drama in Shaanxi opera and some features of Yuan drama text are reflected in Shaanxi opera. Nowadays, considerable studies on the influence among different drama have been carried out. However, few investigators have focused their research on the Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama. Based on the literature text analyse of same theme, the relationship between the Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama is investigated from five respects in this paper.The first chapter is the exordium, including three parts:(1) the basis of the topic selection;(2) the present study of literature text analysis of same theme;(3) the research thought and of this paper.The development situation of Shaanxi opera as well as Yuan drama is introducecd in Chapter2. Firstly, Shaanxi opera is the oldest Chinese local drama, and come to be the uppermost drama prevalent in Northwest Region of China. Shaanxi opera originated from ancient Qin area and was formed in Sui and Tang dynasty. Then, it became mature in Song, Jin and Ming dynasty, and reached a level of power and splendor in the middle Qing dynasty. Secondly, Yuan drama originated from northern China in Jin and Yuan dynasty, and then became popular to the whole country. Yuan drama achieved remarkable achievement and was as famous as Tang-Song poetry. Lastly, a preliminary discussion of the relationship between the two kinds of drama is carried out.The plays of same theme in Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama are enumerated in Chapter3. The first segment introduces the repertoires of Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama, including the content comparison of the same theme and summary of the general tendency and features. The comparison of the the repertoires of Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama is introduced in second segment. According to primary statistics, there are162plays of Yuan drama, among them46plays are similar with that of Shaanxi opera. Meanwhile, the contents of Shaanxi opera mainly follow the theme of loyalty, fealty, morality and justice in Yuan drama. The classification of the same theme in Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama is shown in third segment. It can be found from classification that the theme about myth, justice and marriage decrease while that of serial and family ethics rises.The comparison study of the content with same theme in Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama is introduced in Chapter4. The first segment is the comparison of thought subjects. The thought subjects in Shaanxi opera have little difference with those of Yuan drama. The second segment is the comparison of character image. The character shift from single to complicated, and reflects the characteristic of history.The third segment is the comparison of language features. The feature of vulgar literature is the main common ground between Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama. The fourth segment is the difference of music. The difference of music between Shaanxi opera and Yuan drama is the main reason of the txst difference.Chapter5explains the the reason of the txst difference with the similar theme, including three parts:(1) inheritance of classic theme;(2) influence of social and historical culture;(3) human emancipation.
