Ceremony Of Modernity

At the core of two basical conception of ritual sense and modenity, this paper mainly discuss whether the sensus divinitatis and morality still exists during the course of the rituals in the evolution, and nowadays with general decline of the values of faith, how does the ritual sense to continue to exist and deliver new aesthetic meanings. This paper mainly discusses from the following parts:Chapter1:briefly introduces the research background of the question modernity interpretation of ritual sense, the reason for taking the conception ritual sense as the study object and how to discuss it by combining the aesthetic and modernity theories.Chapter2:mainly analyses the conception of ritual sense. Firstly, this part analyses and define the origination and conception of rituals. Secondly, this part analyses the aesthetic forms, such as terror sense, sensus divinitatis, sense of order and the feeling of harmony. Thirdly, this part analyses the symbolic signals during rituals, and illustates the course of the object conception developing from symbol to emotion.This part coming next discriminates differentia and similarities between the ritual sense and formal sense, thereby discusses the dharma symbol behind the form of beautyof rituals.Last but not least, this part induces the defination of ritual sense by the method of description of phenomenology.Chapter3:mainly discusses the question modernity of the ritual sense. In the first place, this part analyses the evolution of modernity of the ritual sense, points out that the background of modernity generated lies in decline of the faith in God in the western world, thereby make the ritual sense lack moral foundation in the modern society. In the second place, this part analyses the modernity of the ritual sense, namely aesthetic tendency on the surface of the ritual sense. And combining the thoery of British empiricism, this part regresses the morality of ritual sense to the nature of mankind. Lastly, this part discusses the inner source the ritual sense generating and its new values and meaning in the field of aesthetic appreciation by analysing time.Chapter4:summarizes this paper and points out the weakness of it.
