Chinese Dialect Meaning And Its Variants Study

This paper describes the process to build the Table of Chinese Dialects'Sense. It focuses on the meanings and roles of the Sense and its variants: Sense is the lowest common multiple of all dialects and Mandarin words'meanings; the sense is described by the most accurate, simplest, the most common Mandarin words or phrases; extracting the senses is of great significance to Multi-Dialect Surveys and the establishment of Dialect Database; a sense variant has the same meaning with the standard sense but is described by another form; the sense variants play an important role in getting rid of repeated senses from Table of Chinese Dialects'Sense.And, I not only put forward my own ideas about Classification of senses but also apply it in practice: the Classification of senses is based on the human conventional knowledge; the Classification of senses follows the law of "induction - deduction - induction"; the sense classification has three levels which is easier for the computer code and queries.Finally, the finished Table of Chinese Dialects'Sense achieves the goals: the sense is complete but selectively; the structure of sense classification is rigorous but ambiguous; the Table of Chinese Dialects'Sense is firm but open.The Table of Chinese Dialects'Sense provides the premise and foundation for the further establishment of Multi-Dialects table, drawing the dialect map, and then the eventual development of the Chinese dialects database.
