Zou Xikou migratory movement brings about family structure and social custom change in Hequ county. Because Yan Xingke is seasonally migrant worker, Shou Jiapoyi not only takes on family responsibility, but also takes part in social rituals,which women were forbided in chinese tranditional rural society. Yan Xingke need deals with an emotionally difficult situation on account of the way of working in Inner Mongolia. Zou Xikou living situation causes the emotional tension between Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi. In view of the sing tradition of the local culture, Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi express their emotions by means of Hequ Folk Song. The emotional tension affected the musical form of Hequ Folk Song deeply and lead to the prosperity of Hequ Folk Song.The dissertation consists of four chapters. The first chapter, we review the historical background of Zou Xikou migratory movement. Then we point out that the object of the research is the emotional tension between Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi in Zou Xikou living situation. Finally, we analyze the characteristics of Hequ Folk Song under the influence of Zou Xikou living situation. The second chapter, we elaborate the development process of the emotional tension between Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi in detail. The songs were sung by Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi are defined as Yan Xingge and Po yige respectively. The third chapter, we analyze the inherent relationship between the formulaic language of Hequ Folk Song and the living situation of Zou Xikou. The fourth chapter, we analyze the functions of Hequ Folk Song when Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi sang song, which mainly include the expression, communication and culture memory. In a word, we research the interactive relationship between Zou Xikou living situation and Hequ Folk Song by the emotional tension between Yan Xingke and Shou Jiapoyi.
