In The Theory Of Debussy Music Image

Debussy was a great distinguished French composer from the late19th century to the20th century,whose musical style was a link combining the traditional music and that in the future. His creative musical language,distinct from conventional view and methlds of composing music,broke free from conventions.The bright-colored imagery that he created in his compositions made his music present haze,dreamland,natural grace,elegance and peace,portroying a beautiful world of imagery for the world.In this article, I’ll express my opinion about how he presented his unique magic of music by analyzing his representive works,based on previous study.What’s more, some similarities in imagery between his music and poems or painting will be stated so that his unique beauty in his works can be revealed.This essay consists of three parts. The first part mainly expounds the cultural background that his imagery originated form.The second part concretely discusses the beautiful world of poetic imagery,inspired by symbolic poetry. The third part many discusses the changing world of imagery under in the influence of impressionist painting.
