This paper is composed of two parts, viewed in history and literary perspective respectively. On the basis of exploring the Wild Goose literary works (poems and poetic essays included) before Tang Dynasty, the Wild Goose Ci of Tang and Song Dynasties will be expounded concretely in the other three chapters. First, an overview will be given to the development of Wild Goose literature before Tang Dynasty. I would like to briefly analyze the Wild Goose works from the Age of The Book of Odes, The Odes of Ch’u to Dynasties of Han, Wei, Jin and Northern and Southern. Secondly, there is an annotation on the Wild Goose literary image from two aspects to present its wealthy connotation and lyricism. One aspect is about the image types of the Wild Goose Ci in Tang and Song Dynasties, they are "solitude wild goose" and "autumnal wild goose" respectively; and the other aspect is about the abundant intension of the Wild Goose image representing nostalgia, parting sorrows, etc. Thirdly, according to the differences of historical background, personal experiences and aesthetic sentiment, it is about to show the forlorn and euphemistical, tragic and lofty, vacant and elegant distinctive styles of the Wild Goose Ci of Tang and Song Dynasties. Fourthly, comparative study is made on the Wild Goose Ci of famous authors of Tang and Song Dynasties. Works of SuShi and XinQiji, WuWenying and JiangJie will be placed in their respective real-life situations to reveal their overall characters and discrepancies, their features of the age and personal writing styles.
