Animation is a good media for teaching language and culture, but how can wetake an appropriate viewpoint to select the proper and common values for introducingour Chinese language and culture, that is a worthy topic to explore, and for solvingthe problem we need to research the comparative film studies with the cross-culturalhorizon. In this thesis I’m trying to compare with so many different movies by usingthe comparative film studies, and talk about the animation art and this industry inChina and from other countries, and we will compare both, then explore theircategories, the forms for expressing the characteristics, the directors and their works,the values expressing by their films and their audience, all is for discovering theappropriate strategies for expressing Chinese culture with animation and the answerto “how to apply this media wonderfully?”, then we will use these strategies to makea cartoon movie to test if this media works to our teenagers from Ecuador and howmuch effect it works. Finally we will write a report to show the effect and make aconclusion of introducing Chinese culture with animation.
