Orientation words are specific types in modern Chinese words system. Its grammatical attribute and the complexity of the semantic function attract extensive attentions, monographs and articles related develop greatly, involving all aspects. With the rise of language school functions, particularly the widespread attention of cognitive linguistics, the studies in orientation words and structures from functional and cognitive perspectives become the mainstream.Cognitive linguistics generally believed that human cognition is inseparable from the world of space, time, number of these three areas, metaphor is an important human cognitive style, in which spatial metaphor have a special significance, because most abstract concepts are expressed and understand through spatial metaphor. With the help of space-orientation Chinese people can easily understand the abstract concepts, such as the quantity, time, scope, status, and the social status. Orientation words have been given a lot of metaphorical meanings, accordingly its teaching become complicated in teaching Chinese as a second language.Antisense paratactic type of orientation compounds consist of two opposite meaning direction words which is parallelly combined. This thesis aimed at these three words:"qianhou","zuoyou","shangxia". It talked about the processes of their semantic development, usage, and distribution in the sentences; And other grammatical relations between units selection; The similarities and differences among the usage; We will give some suggestions after analyzing the errors of "qianhou","zuoyou" and "shangxia" in the acquisition process. The thesis is divided into five chapters in addition to introduction and conclusion.Introduction. Topics mainly related to the origin of the research, present research situation and development trend of orientation words; the definition and the research situation of the antisense paratactic type; relevant theories, research methods and description of the source of corpus. Chapter one is the study of "qianhou". A literature-based, describing the forming process of the "qianhou", tried to explain the motivation about semantic development; describing the specific meaning and syntactic distribution,"qianhou" can not only be expressed spatial concepts, but also indicates time concepts; It can be used alone, can appear in "qianhou+X" and "X+qianhou", we focus on the analysis of the nouns, verbs and phrases characteristic which can enter in these formats.Chapter two is the study of "zuoyou". This chapter describes the process of "zuoyou" from the phrase to the word and the cause of it; Meanwhile from the three perspectives:space areas, time area, number area, describes its usage and distribution, focuses on "zuoyou" appeared in the number of structure, the noun phrases or the verb phrases express the approximate quantity.Chapter three is the study of "shangxia". It discussed the processes and mechanisms of the lexicalization of "shangxia". We discussed its usage and Syntactic distribution in the three areas.Chapter four is "qianhou","zuoyou" and "shangxia" usage comparison. It analyzed the similarities and differences among their usages. The differences in the time area; The differences between "zuoyou" and "shangxia" while they expressed the approximate quantity. We tried to summarize some related rules.Chapter five is the acquisition analysis of "qianhou","zuoyou" and "shangxia". On the basis of errors analysis and second language acquisition theory, started from the overall acquisition of orientation words, focuses on the analysis of the errors, the types of the errors and the causes of the errors, then listed some suggestions about the teaching syllabus and strategies for reference.Conclusion. Make a summary of the main viewpoints, pointing out the inadequacies of it and the aspects needed to be complemented and perfected.
