Oriental thought has been the guiding philosophy of Asian life in every aspect for millions of years. For a long time, the philosophy and appreciation of Oriental art has also been principally informed by the aesthetics of orientalism. The theoretical background of this thesis is the coexistence of Eastern and Western cultures, and my artworks form a response to the experiences and emotions I had when growing up against this backdrop. However, I have used the theory of oriental art and thought as the theoretical foundation of my analysis of the work.Based on ’aura’ and the aesthetics of’Rhythmic Vitality’ which are the central concepts of Oriental philosophy of Art and a theoretical basis for the abstract representation, I will analyse my final artworks through their development process.I will briefly summarise my upbringing, and how it has inspired my work, for your better understanding of my thesis. The background and process of producing my artwork will be also explained. The period of production of my artworks from2003to2013will be divided into three stages to analyse the artworks in detail. This thesis consists of three chapters. In the chapter1, I examine ’Rhythmic Vitality’ the central concepts of Oriental philosophy of Art, from the theoretical perspective in order to interpret the psychological aspects that affected my artworks. Also, I will investigate the concept of ’Rhythmic Vitality’ and its artistic implications from the different point of views of Eastern and Western scholars, in doing so, the inner aspects of my artworks will be analysed. In terms of producing artworks, the process would be more crucial than the result. In the chapter2, I synthetically study contrast, integration and expression of colours along with analysis of the formative elements of my artworks, in doing so ’Rhythmic Vitality’ that affected during the development period can be logically proved. In chapter3. I will analyse the artworks created from2003to2013, dividing them into the three stages.
