Application Of Superimposed Abstract Elements In Hans Hoffman’s Paintings

When abstract art rose,the art mode of imitating nature gradually divorced from the art of painting.Different from the figurative art,by combining the essential elements above the picture,the artists use various ways to combine the elements,give them a new meaning,and finally present the artist’s purpose.The concrete images in the abstract painting are also gradually eliminated,and the rest is the abstract elements with the spiritual core.As one of these ways,the superposition type has always existed in the works of the artists.Different elements are superimposed in the same space to meet the purpose of the artist and put the new meaning in the combination of elements.It may be the superposition of shapes to create a new image;it may be the superposition of colors to present the new visual feelings of colors;it may be the superposition of ideas,and different ideas merge into new ideas.In the abstract expressionism that emerged in the 1940 s,Hans Hoffman,as an indispensable figure,has been committed to studying the connection of the various elements in abstract painting,among which the superimposed abstract elements serve as their usual painting means and their theories.His works are full of colors and shapes,which seem messy but interrelated.The study of how Hans Hofmann superimposes various abstract elements and produces new meanings is the main research content of this topic.Hans Hofmann was one of the first abstract expressionist artists.Hoffman opened and taught his own art schools in Provence,Massachusetts and New York,cultivating about half of the abstract expressionists in the United States,greatly influencing the art of modern American painting.The analysis and study of the artistic practice experience of Hans Hoffman is a certain inspiration to the development of contemporary art and a certain reference to the cultural development of China.Finally,this article is the combination of superimposed abstract elements and Hans Hofmann’s painting works and influence and theory on my artistic creation.
