A particular painting style—Chinese figure painting which had been created by our predecessors from chinese-specific history cultural background. The artistic characteristics and the Chinese traditional culture had been perfectly integrated into the painting style. No matter the royal family figure painting on silk, tomb mural, stone painting, grottoes painting of various dynasties, freehand painting (Po Mo Xian Ren Tu) from The Song dynasty,or the human figure painting of the Qing dynasty by BoNian Ren etc. All of these different painting styles are hosting the spirit of Chinese traditional culture. But for learning the mordern freehand figure paiting of Chinese traditional paiting, we shall find the balance to inheritance the Chinese traditional painting and express the features of the morden painting in the art of Chinese ink piainting. This essay illustrates the relevance of ink painting and Chinese traditional cultural background. Freehand painting art and different painting styles were produced by regional differences, and were affected by Confucian thoughts and also particular humanities. In the third chapter of this essay, it includes the features of the morden ink painting which based on the changes from traditional painting, because the mordern painting art is more focus on the personal characteristics and express the individuals’differences. A good mordern ink painting shall capture the features of contemporary society and express its spirit. it shall also base on learning skills and knowledges which regards to the traditional ink painting. Many marsters gains their own painting styles by learning other masterpiece from Chinese traditional ink paiting artists. Therefore, from the experience of understanding the masterpieces and desinging of my own works, I realised that a captive and attractive painting works can be produced by observe and catches the features of the contemporary community. This would help to keep the balance of carrying on the traditional painting skills and develop individual charactristics of the ink painting in contemporary society.
