Introduction To "plan" The Sculpture Is Created Of Material And Method

As a student of practice in fine art area, I choose to write my thesis from the perspective of creating methods. Nowadays,"project-oriented" creating method is being used very popular. As a method, originally it is just a trigger of art creation so it is not necessarily a good or a bad thing. As we know, people operate method, and during the operating process people will gain some hints and inspirations. However, some of them are good for art creation, some are not.This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is discussing the background of how "project-oriented’" creating method getting popular. Which is mainly talked about due to the different contexts, there appeared new interpretation of art during the process of modernism was introduced into China. Meanwhile, interventions of art criticism also had an impact on "project-oriented" creating method.In the second chapter, specific to the all process of how sculptures are produced from the art project, the author analyzed several adverse problems of using this kind of method. Firstly, the identity and use of this method itself means that the artist whose attitude towards art and materials is not equal。They believe in rational control。 Moreover, to face the material with established ideas will lead to the neglect of the material’s variety. Secondly, specific to the part of producing the project, the author analyzed the use of existing knowledge and art form in the conception level; it is easy to fall into the unintelligence and kitsch of the concept. Thirdly, focus on the part of how sculptures are produced from the art project, the author analyzed incoordinate relationship between conceptual situation and real sculpture.Faced with these problems, I analyzed the no pre-set creating method. Although this method itself seems to avoid these problems purposely, the situation is complicated in practice. And these problems will appear unconsciously. In order to find our own groove, what should we do.This thesis is starting with the analyzing of the "project-oriented" creating method, after analyzing and thinking with questions, I approached the exploring of artistic attitude. Although this thesis doesn’t comply with the structure of arguments strictly, I believe the meaning of a thesis is more about whether it has the function of trial by error and does it has any crossing relationships with some contemporary artistic values or even conflicts, and the resulting further thinking. Even though some the arguments are a bit biased, it does show my reflection and confusion about the art.
