Reading instruction is a great important part in Chinese Teaching As a Second Language, andstudents’ comprehensive language abilities could be reflected by it. The complete teaching processalways be explored and discussed from different angles of view because it is very complicated. Thepaper try to explore the teaching method of reading instruction in higher step of Chinese Teaching Asa Second Language from four angles: the analysis of teaching material, teaching object, vocabularyteaching and classroom teaching.Teaching material is the primary tool and usually plays a decisive role in teaching process,especially Chinese Teaching As a Second Language. Because it’s closely connected with teachinggoals and education effect. The level of theory research on textbook compilation directly reflect theinternal development of theory research on Chinese Teaching As a Second Language. The paperdiscussed a new textbook Developing Chinese (2nd edition) within probation period. Chapter1explicitly introduced structure of subject matter, content abstract, class time, teaching goels andteaching program. The textbook is openness, uniqueness, usability and availability.Teaching object is12foreign students of Ji’Nan university. Chapter2studied the relations of12students and their Chinese abilities through their nationality and performance in class.Vocabulary teaching placed high standing in reading instruction of Chinese Teaching. A lot rich ofvocabulary can make great affect in reading, and improved reading ability in short time. Chapter3explored different measures of vocabulary teaching, it helped students perfectly learned and used lotsof vocabulary without mistakes.Classroom teaching include vocabulary teaching and other reading instructions. Chapter4suggested the training of reading aloud, the aesthetic point of reading, cross-culture of reading andexpand reading instructions. This chapter also discussed some questions from outside of language,inside of language, culture of language and further explored new options of reading instruction.the method of classroom teaching is the big innovation in this paper, because it is different fromtraditional classroom teaching. students need to come into contact with abundant articles or literaryworks in the teaching of advanced reading. It decides the teaching model can’t be singleness and traditional. It must constantly innovate and keep trying. we have to make varied teaching models,organize many kinds of classroom activities, expand much knowledge of multiaspect through manyangels and many writings. we can develop a new teaching model which could take theunderstanding as the main way and train the Chinese thinking on reading instruction.In the process of researching on reading instruction we may encounter some problems. Theproblem is that teaching time is not enough or teacher’s experience is not enrich. They hindereddiscussion of advanced reading instruction. But teacher can choose the new visual angel throughlistening class and non-linguistic factors to research the reading instruction.
