People’s livelihood thought is one of important problems which Mao Ze-dong and DengXiao-ping have been concerned and emphasised on. They unremittingly explored the problem, putforward a series innovative thinking and accumulated rich practical experience in the people’slivelihood.,which provides us many good train of thought and principles to resolve the problem.On the foundation of clarifying the concept of people’s livelihood and of looking back thedevelopment of People’s livelihood thought of all ages.This paper systematically analyzed andcompared it, and there is inevitable connection between Mao Ze-dong and Deng Xiao-ping’sPeople’s livelihood thought with the accordance of macro purpose,that is the solution of puttingpeople’s livelihood problem and livelihood of the people benefit in the first place.Nevertheless,there is a great difference in solution between their People’s livelihood thought. MaoZe-dong hoped to solve the people’s livelihood problem through the foundation of socialistsystem. And Deng Xiao-ping would prefered to solve the problem through the development ofproductive forceswith the thinking principle of reform. Mao Ze-dong and Deng Xiao-ping’sPeople’s livelihood thought provided a lot of useful enlightenment and reference. ChineseCommunist Party must take the solution of people’s livelihood problem as a primary task ingovernance capability and leadership and also take the probelem as an arduous long-termtortuous process. Therefore Chinese Communist Party must adhere to reform and opening up notto be moved, capture economy to build this center closely, and rally together the party and peopleof the nation to achieve common prosperity and common sharing of harmonious socialist society.
