With MAO Zedong as the core of the first generation of leading collective ofthe communist party of China led the Chinese people’s political independence andliberation, laid a solid foundation for the realization of the happiness of thepeople’s livelihood. Adapt to changing times, combined with the actual, with DengXiaoping as the core of the second generation of collective leadership of thecommunist party of China inherits and develops MAO Zedong’s thought of thepeople’s livelihood, from the aspects of politics, economy, culture and so on, ledthe Chinese people in the pursuit of happiness of the people’s livelihood took a bigstep on the road. In the process of the pursuit of happiness of the people’slivelihood, MAO Zedong and Deng Xiaoping forms the different thought of thepeople’s livelihood. Deng Xiaoping’s thought of the people’s livehood and MAOZedong’s thought of the people’s livehood are in line. They common adhere toMarxism, and combined with China’s actual. Using the unity of history and logicanalysis method, through literature study and comparative study, to be able toDeng Xiaoping’s inheritance and development of MAO Zedong’s thought ofpeople’s livelihood as three aspects. They are the juche idea of the livelihood, thepeople’s livelihood target thought, the peoole’s livelihood path thought. The threeaspects of inheritance and development, constitutes the main part of DengXiaoping’s thought about the livelihood of the people. It provide experience andenlightenment for the Chinese people to pursue happiness of the people’s livehood.
