On The Construction Of China’s Modern Public Spirit

The Modern public spirit is the soul of sustaining human existence, promoting community development and realizing rational value in public life, it’s the embodiment of human nature. The modern public spirit is the superficial characteristic of human’s modernity, as well as an important requirement of social public life, and above all, it is a demand for political democratization. It is of great realistic significance to construct modern public spirit. This paper will construct the special research on modern public spirit in our country, mainly from the following four aspects:Firstly, making clear the historical development of modern public spirit. In this article, it is thought that modern public spirit is a product of history, and it develops constantly with the pace of human history. To grasp the progression of modern public spirit from the longitudinal angle, it is necessary to observe and study its historical context; in this way, the specific forms of modern public spirit in each historical periods will be revivified, which will contribute to our understanding of the modern features of public spirit. Based on the specific historical changes of the public life, this article summarizes the historical stages of development of our country’s public spirit as four phases:hibernation, germination, deviation and regression.Secondly, describing the present situation of modern public spirit objectively. The paper points out that it is believed that after a tortuous development, our country’s modern public spirit is at the stage of progress, with its modernity being increasingly prominent. However, some problems, such as the indiscreetness in the sense of science and responsibility when understanding the main body, the deficiency of public rationality and so forth, still exist when we refer to modern public spirit.Thirdly, analyzing the factors that restrict the development of our country’s modern public. In this article, it is held that the effect on our country’s modern public spirit of the factors into history and practical factors: To start with, the historical factors mainly include four aspects: the self-sufficient natural economy, the autocratic political system, the social structure with the integration of the home country and families and the ethical culture of "without a self; next, realistic factors mainly include people’s misunderstanding of the concept of market economy, the relatively low level of our country’s political democratization, the slow development of the social organizations and the hysteretic development of the civic culture.Fourthly, Proposed the basic thinking to structure modern public spirit in China. First, actively improve the effect on the external conditions of our country’s modern public spirit constructs. One is to perfect the mechanism of market economy in China for the modern public spirit constructs laid condition; Two is to promote political democracy into our country for the modern public spirit constructs provide practice field; Three is to build civil society in China for the modern public spirit to provide reliable carrier; Four is educate citizens for the modern public spirit culture provide soil. Secondly, put forward some concrete construction measures according to the inherent law development of modern public spirit:one is to strengthen theoretical research, for the modern public spirit to seek support; Two is to pay attention to consciousness education, to improve the modern public citizen quality; Three is to advance idea propaganda, to build the modern public spirit fulfills the social atmosphere; Four is to guide social practice, to encourage citizens of the society in practice a modern public spirit.
