Since the young scholar Lian Si put forward the thought of "ant tribe" in2009, the hot phenomenon caused many scholars’and media’s attention. Nanjing, as the the capital of Jiangsu province, have many universities and students. At the same time, Nanjing base in the Yangtze River Delta, influenced by the city radiation of Shanghai, but itself is tier two city. All of this make Nanjing "ant tribe" phenomenon typical and representative. In addition, the current domestic research on this group is not so systematic and deep-going. Therefore, the Nanjing "ant tribe" has the academic value and practical significance.In the research process, this paper not just focused on Nanjing "ant tribe" living situation, also deeply discussed their career and development as well as the city adaptation problem.This paper can divide into three parts.Part Ⅰ:The systematic combing of classical theory and related outcomes. Through the combing of the "ant tribe" literature, determined several dimensions of the past research, based on the master of the "ant tribe" related study, futher define the specific research direction. And based on this, introduced this paper’s research method.Part Ⅱ:Empirical Study of Nanjing "ant tribe". Through the snowball sampling choose Nanjing "ant tribe" settlements, through questionnaire survey and in-depths interviews to aquire reliable and empirical materials. Based on the large number of empirical materials, have a systematic analysis on the living and life, career and development and city adaptation of the Nanjing "ant tribe". In the chapter of living and life, we try to analysis the living and social stratification from the perspective of living space stratification. We also discussed the career and development of Nanjing "ant tribe", especially the career satisfaction. By using Factor Analysis, their career satisfaction reduced to three factors:work relationship satisfaction, compensation&benefit satisfaction and workload satisfaction. At the same time, we discussed the city adaption problem, mainly analyse the city adaption situation and its influencing factors. At last, through Interation Analysis and Binary Logistic Regression, we discussed the influencing factors when Nanjing "ant tribe" make the decision to leave Nanjing.Part III:Through the "ant tribe" phenomena to discuss the fuction of high education in the social stratification. Combining with above empirical analysis, mainly discussed three questions:first, high education is still can serve as an effective social stratification dimension? Second, through the career and development of Nanjing "ant tribe" discussed the labor market division and social stratification. Third, through the city adaptation discussed the social mobility problem.
