After the1932bourgeois revolution, Thailand established a modern democratic system and opened a free democratic process. During the process of democratization in the past80years, Thailand has completed a series of constitutional reforms to remove feudal political system, and gradually established a perfect parliaments, political parties, local self-government system. Thailand’s political arena lacks continuity and stability among the political parties, and local democracy, autonomy based system has also become extremely vulnerable part of the maintenance of constitutional government and the country’s democratic system. Local autonomy is the core of the local system, and its guiding ideology is popular sovereignty and natural rights. Thailand’s ruling class recognizes the importance of the relationship between central and local, and put the local institution building on the important position of the national political institution-building system. With the improvement of concept of democracy, Thai people’s sense of democracy and enthusiasm of participation in state affairs has been constantly enhanced. Local self-government system has a mass base and the continued survival.As a large agricultural country with many ethnic groups, ethnic relations between urban and rural area of Thailand is complicated. The study on the local system of Thailand will have helpful meaning for the building on the local autonomous regime of our country.The article is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is an overview of the local system in Thailand. The article introduces the concept of the local system, and the composition and content of the local system of Thailand. Thailand’s local system, includes local councils, local political parties, decentralization between central and local authority and several other parts.Chapter two is the administrative divisions in Thailand. Thailand’s administrative divisions include province, county and sub-county, district, village four local administrative level. Thailand’s cities were classified introduced, including prefecture-level city, town-class city, borough city, etc. Chapter three is the local government system in Thailand. It is introduced from three perspectives of local administrative bodies, local council institutions and local party system. Local administrative bodies, including the composition of the local administrative bodies are divided into government-level administrative system, the local administrative system. The article also introduces the functions of local government in Thailand and the Thai financial situation of local governments. The composition of the local council system in accordance with the different levels is divided into parliamentary system of government level and the city council system; The article also summarizes the characteristics of the local parliamentary system and the local political parties in Thailand.Chapter four is the decentralization between central and local authority. With the acceleration of the democratization process in Thailand in the1990s, the decentralization of the central and local have made great progress. During1992elections in Thailand, decentralization has become an important issue. Under the pressure of pro-democratic parties, the Thai central government set through a series of bills of the District Administrative Organization Act as the basis for autonomy in Thailand. Thai central and local decentralization is currently active in the exploration process, despite the twists and turns, but the decentralization of the future is bright.
