Since1980s, China has embarked on the journey of social transitions. With the deepening reforms in economic, political and cultural sectors, the civil societies, undergoing the rapid growth period in1980s and adjustment period in1990s, have entered the phase of sound and steady development. However, the astonishing development of internet gives rise to the new platform of communications and exchanges. Under such circumstances, internet associations and organizations began to take shape. Being across-regional and open, the internet associations and organizations wisely sheer away from the restraints of some rules and regulations and establish a new development model in the volunteers recruiting, activities conducting and institutions building. In the internet associations, netizens could fully publicize their wills and aspirations all at ease and have the freedom of associations and expressions. Such open environment with low thresholds poses new challenges to the governmental supervisions. Some problems, such as the dissemination of negative information, the organization of criminal gangs, bullying of other internet groups and unconsciousness of internet groups have plagued the internet associations. No legislative, administrative or regulatory measure are formulated to address such problems in China, the supervisory methods adopted by civil societies could not be applied to the internet. Various problems confronting the internet associations are not properly resolved, thus exerting negative influence on the sound development of the internet associations. This thesis, from the perspective of the governmental regulations, analyzes the reasons for the emergence of the internet associations, defines the internet associations, introduces the absence of supervisions and proposes relevant solutions and suggestions.
