On Franz Mehring’ Interpretation Of Materalist Conception Of History

This paper studies the view on Materialist Conception of History of Franz Mehring--An important historical figures on the development of Marxism.Mehring’understanding of the historical materialism refers to his criticism to all sorts of misinterpretation view of historical materialism and part of the interpretation of the Marx and Engels’works. Face to all kinds of misunderstandings of Marxism and the historical mission given from the time to Marxist, Mehring attached great importance to the exposition of historical materialism, and published a comprehensive expression named " On historical materialism " appendix in "Lessing legend" in1893.This is relatively concentrated exposition of his historical materialism thought. In this article, Mehring has targeted at the Marxism trend of the misunderstanding of the historical materialism with a positive interpretation, which deepened and developed Materialist conception of history in some ways. However, since he had misunderstood the Marxist scientific practice principle and dialectical materialism principle, with the addition of the effect from positivism and so on, in his interpretation of the historical materialism, to be accompanied by some important theoretical defects and mistakes unavoidably. Even so, compared with contemporary theorists, what Mehring’s understanding of the historical materialism still have the unique in some respects. Thus, How to look at the interpretation of Marx’s historical materialism from Mehring has an important enlightenment function to promote the development of Modernization of Marxism scientifically.The paper concludes by four parts:Mehring’interpretation way of Marx’s historical materialism,Mehring’interpretation of the basic theory of Marx’s historical materialism,the difference on interpretation of the historical materialism with contemporary theorists, and the important enlightenment function to promote the development of Modernization of Marxism. Among them, take " On historical materialism " as the nuclear basis,p The first part of this paper focus on the clarifies of Mehring’interpretation way of Marx’s historical materialism.Through exploring Mehring’interpretation of Marx’s historical materialism from the subjective and objective factors,this part tried to excavates the reason why he changed his interpretation of Materialist Conception of History; The secend part of this paper search around Mehring’s beneficial contribution and defects on the explanation of Materialist Conception of History.Through expatiates Mehring’interpretation of the basic theory of Marx’s historical materialism from both the positive and negative aspects, Strive to graspMehring’interpretation of Marx’s historical materialismobjectively.The First Two Partsr are the theoretical focuses of the paper. The third part of this paper do horizontal comparison with related thought of contemporary other theorists in the second international,mainly expatiates on the difference between Mehring and Lafarge, Karl Kautsky, and Bernstein, try to reveal the unique of Mehring’s understanding of the historical materialism, and try to do basic research on Mehring’interpretation of Marx’s historical materialism comprehensively and accurately, which is the theoretical difficulties of the paper. Combined with current situation of time in the process of promoting the development of Modernization of Marxism, and compare with theoretical connotation and the age requirement of the development of Modernization of Marxism,the fourth part of this paper tries to comprehend Materialist Conception of History from the historical and realistic perspective, and provides some enlightenment to promote the development of Modernization of Marxism scientifically, which is the theoretical foothold and innovation points of the paper.
