As the idea of life-long education becomes more and moreaccepted by people, the children and children’s educationincreasingly attract people’s attention and become many scholars’researching areas. The education must be based on the presuppositionof respect. If there is no respect, there is no real education–rights ofchildren are developed relying on this ideal. The voice of rights ofchildren has become the strongest voice in the contemporary era, asthe human rights have developed for centuries and have been givennew connotation. However, the rights of children did not exist from thevery beginning, and the development and evolution of it has gonethrough a long historical process: Before and during the Middle age,there was even no concept of children. However, the Renaissance andreform of religious arouse people’s concern of freedom and humanrights. During this period, the concepts of children’s rights germinated.After the war I, with the development of the concept of human rights, inthe <the Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Children>, theconcept of children rights has been first brought up in the internationalcommunity as a “declaration”. After the war II, the pass of <TheDeclaration on the rights of children> made the concept children’srights more deeply rooted in people’s heart. In1989, the pass of “TheDeclaration on the rights of children” marked that the rights of childrenwere really protected by the law, and it plays an important role on theinternational stage.Children are important object of education research. From <theGeneva Declaration on the Rights of the Children> in1924to <Declaration on the Rights of the Children> in1959, and to <Conventionon the Rights of the Children>in1989, the children’s rights developedand evolved for centuries. Therefore, the brought up of the concept of the rights of children is a major event in the history of education of theworld, and has significant value in the history of world education.Based on the background of the pass of the three declarations andconventions, the education background related to children’s humanrights, and the impact on the world education of its passing, the articleattempt to sort out the children’s rights developing process from“concept to law”, and discuss its position on the historical education.The writing of this article has referred to a large amount of historicaldocuments and it applied the method of literature analysis and historyresearch.This paper is divided into five parts: The first part mainly analyzed theview on children and children’s education condition during and beforethe Middle Ages and during17-19th century. Therefore, we can see thegermination of the concept of the Rights of Children. In the second partand the third part, based on the “Geneva Declaration on the Rights ofthe Child” in1924and “Declaration on the Rights of the Child” in1959,the article analyzed its historical background, the condition of thechildren’s education, the declaration’s formation progress, content andits impact on education. It also discussed the beginning anddevelopment of the concept of children’s right, and then analyzed itsimpact on the world education. In the forth part, based on “theConvention on the Rights of Children”, the article analyzed the historybackground of its germination, the condition of children’s education,the convention’s formation process, content and its impact oneducation. The issue that children’s rights is protected by the law is alsodiscussed. The conclusion part discussed the position of children’s rightsin the history of world education.The development of children’s rights from “concept” to “law” is animportant issue in the history of education, and it has deep and vitalinfluence on the world education. What’s more,“the Geneva Declaration on the Rights of the Child”,“the Declaration on the Rightsof the Child”, and “the Convention on the Rights of the Child” reflectthe germination and developing process of children’s rights. And thedeveloping process from “declaration” to “convention” also witness thevital value and position of children’s right in the history of worldeducation.In China, although “the rights of children” has been researched andevaluated in the legal profession, it barely involved in the field of historyof education. With the development of the history of educationresearch on culture and social problems, research in this field in Chinawill also be cultivated. This paper is just groundwork in this domain.
