There are some descriptions about the status of women in ancient China In literature works and academic works,the unanimous conclusion is that the inequality of the sexes.But with the development of the society,natural rights are claimed and equality between the sexes are taken seriously. In such background, the status of women in law have changed,equality of the sexes was inflected.At the same time,the science of law began to research the status of women from all aspects. This article discusses the status of women from the relevant provisions of the law and the law woks. The article has four parts, the first part of the article is the introduction,present situation about the theme, methodology and the significance of this article.The second chapter mainly discusses the origin of the law, includes the ancient law and the modern law. In addition, this part organizes the relevant materials.The third chapter of the article discusses the status of women from the relevant provisions of the law and the law woks. Ancient law reflects the low status of women,equality of the sexes is reflected by modern law. The research of the subject have made great achievements, however they pay more attention to the description of the substantial, quantity research through integrate the materials is not enough. The next chapter draws some conclusions through the above that the legal status of women is influenced by moral, social modernization and the promotion of the position of women are interacted.The final section of the article is the conclusion,the law plays an important role in improving the status of women, the study of the law also reflects society’s demands and helps to adjust the position of the sexes. Previous studies represented the previous social philosophy and coincided with the the social development and social order.In the process of the construction of the society ruled by law, according to the development of the society and the concept for the protection of human rights, the meaning of equality between men and women needs keep pace with the times.
