Female Lawyers In Shanghai During The Republic Of China

There is a kind of women.They have the same nature with a man's spirits,courage and ideals.They are weak,but in defending rights in justice,no worse than men;They have a dignified,generous mature;Their business is superb,working practice is rigorous,pursuing of excellence;They have quick minds,careful analysis skills and trenchant pens;They are skilled in debate,answer fluently,and they talk cheerful humorously;They are enthusiastic about public welfare,giving selfless assistance to women and children;They are praised as the perfect women.They are the elite of the legal profession,but also the leader of their times-female lawyers.In this paper,we take the female lawyers of the Republic of China in Shanghai as the research object,trying to explore the first generation of female lawyers in more than 100 women in the legal profession.This total through four parts of the rise of modern Shanghai lawyer occupation,the process of female lawyer's right in the Republic of China,the career female lawyer,and their behind life.The first chapter mainly introduces the rise of modern Shanghai lawyer profession.With the invasion of Western countries,the lawyer system entered China through the concession under the shelter of consular jurisdiction.In order to recover the legal rights,the Qing government changed the law and introduced the lawyer system.The 1911 Revolution made the system fail.After the initial establishment of the government of the Republic of China,the "provisional statute of lawyers" promulgated,the lawyer system was established in the end,however,this Constitution explicitly excluded women from the legal profession.The second chapter describes the process of female lawyers to fight for the rights of lawyers.In July 23,1927 the revised "Statute of lawyers" announced,the gender limitation was completely broken.The second part introduces the development situation of women's education in law.Through the study of female students' personal qualities,including the achievement,experience,education and so on,we will know that they are still great outstanding women.The third part of this chapter analyzes the personal character and family background of female lawyers,through which we will understand their own factors and economic basis.The third chapter describes the career of women lawyers in Shanghai during the Republic of China.The content can be divided into three parts,the first part tells their athletic qualities beyond litigation,on one hand,they tried to conceal their femininity,on the other hand,they had to show their female identity under the pressure of their times.The second part describes the relationship of the female lawyers and their champion of women's rights.Most of the female lawyers have said they established themselves as the custodian of the angel of feminism.The third part evaluates the achievements of women lawyers,as well as the limitations caused by the times and their own factors.The fourth chapter tells about the behind scenes of women lawyers in Shanghai during the Republic of China.The first part is about the current situation and the ups and downs of female lawyers' s life.The second part analyzes the concept of marriage and their spouses of female lawyers,and further reflects their characteristics as an independent woman.The third part introduce their talents and skills hidden under their identity aura,thus telling their more vivid experiences of their extraordinary life.
