Analysis Of The High Divorce Rate During The Transformation Period In China

The increasing divorce rate becomes a hot topic concerned by thecurrent Chinese public. According to the statistics in China in recentyears, the divorce rate is increasing continuously in many cities. Divorce,as a legal means to terminate the marriage contract, may bring the chanceto get happiness for both sides of the contract. While, we can’t ignore thefollow-up questions, whicn will hinder the development of our economy.Therefore, the key to solve this problem is to stop the further increase ofthe divorce rate. There was a period, during which the divorce rate wascontinuously increasing, in the history, both at home and abroad. Withoutexception, by contrast, we find that the period of increasing divorce rateis just consistent to that of rapid development of the economy. Tracedback, it is due to the economic development, which brings people theplural values causing the rising divorce rate. Especially in the mordernChina, there are dramatic changes both in political system and ineconomic mode, which makes it more complicated in China in this regard than abroad. Therefore, only by both the lateral comparison with the othercountries in the same period and the vertical comprison with itself in thehistroy, can we find out the key to resolve the problem.This paper is divided into four parts, the structure is as follows:The first part is introduction, mainly describing the reasons andmethods of the research concerning with the issue of the increasingdivorce rate, as well as the innovative points.The second part is the discussion about increasing divorce rateduring the transfomation period in China. With analysis on a series ofvisual data, we can conclude that the divorce rate is actually increasingduring the transformation period. Meanwhile, with the elaboration of theharmness of the increasing divorce rate towards the social development,we are meant to show that this issue can not be ignored.The third part is analysis on the reasons why it is increasingcontinuously in the current history background. By both lateral comprisonwith the rest of the world in the same period, from the view of theuniversality of contradiction; and the vertical comprison with itself during the process when it experienced a sharply change in marriage ethics andfamily morals,from the historical view, we attempt to seek for nswersin the particularity regard of the contradiction. While the existence of themarriage law can not fundamentally solve these problems, because whatmarriage freedom it advocates is not the marriage freedom from the ethicprospect, but just the systematic freedom to choose marriage. Therefore,people who don’t have a clear purpose, under the influence of multiplevalues, become divorced.The fourth part is the core of the article and the strategies to deal withthis problem. It is based on the ethic, which is meant to cultivate marriagevirtue by the improvement of individual’s virtue, from the viewpoint ofindividual’s virtue. By realizing the ethical marriage freedom in marriagechoosing process, we want to find the way leading to the happy marriagein the society fully filled with multiple values. In this part, we discuss thequeston about how to cultivate individual’s marriage ethics in fouraspects, which is in order to to realize the stability of the society, to stopthe further increase of the divorce rate, and to make contribution to the sustainable development of the society during the transformation period.
