Deng Xiaoping's Thought About Using Capitalism

Nowadays, economic globalization is getting more prosperous. Both Capitalism and Socialism influence and restrict each other mutually and coexist in a contradictory unity. After hundreds of years of development, capitalist has become an important part in mankind civilization form. After long-term accumulation and debugging, despite contradictions of capitalism are not resolved completely, it maintains a certain amount of prosperity yet. Chinese socialist construction has developed for decades, but we still fall behind developed capitalist countries and need to catch up in many aspects such as economy, science and technology. Therefore, it is an important theoretical and practical problem for Chinese communists about how to make use of outstanding civilization achievements of capitalism to develop and perfect themselves.As a principal member of the CPC’s first leading generation and the CPC’s leading core of the second generation, Deng Xiaoping considered deeply and explored the problem of capitalism and set up a more systematic thought of utilizing capitalism by experience of leading the people in revolution and construction. The purpose of thesis is not only to illustrate logical structure of Deng Xiaoping’s thought about utilizing capitalism, but also to reveal value of this thought deeply at present.This text of the study is divided into four parts:The first part is the condition and process of establishment of Deng Xiaoping’s thought about utilizing capitalism. In this part, this article analyses the historical conditions of Deng Xiaoping’s thought of utilizing capitalism from four aspects:background, theoretical origin, history and realistic basis. At the same time, by dividing formation process of capitalist ideology, we think that Deng Xiaoping’s thought of utilizing capitalism experienced three stages: preliminary formation, development of the perfect and mature conclusion. The thought develops and perfects continually and mature ultimately in practice.The second part is the purpose, principles and thinking features of Deng Xiaoping’s use of capitalism. In this part, the text analyses the purpose of Deng Xiaoping’s use of capitalism. The first is to develop productive forces, and the second is to catch up with capitalism. We summarize four principles from Deng Xiaoping’s thoughts, which is "emancipating the mind and use boldly" principle,"independence and self-reliance" principle,"insisting the socialist road" principle and the standard for judgment of "Three Benefits". Thinking characteristics are expounded from comprehensive, scientific and practical aspects in this paper.The third part is to discuss the main content of Deng Xiaoping’s thought of use of the capitalist. From this part, we analyze the main content from economic, politics and culture these three dimensions. In economic matters, it will be elaborated by learning to take advantage of capitalism from following aspects:benefiting from experience about the construction of capitalist market economy, using foreign capital, learning foreign management experience and advanced technology, allowing development of individual and private and other non-public-owned economies, setting up the special economic zones and implementing "one country, two systems". In politics, it will analyze from using western political system experience to promote the reform of political system. We need to study and could not move them from Western democracies. In culture, this paper discusses that Deng Xiaoping critically absorb beneficial knowledge and cultural thoughts from capitalism.The fourth part is to analyze the significance of Deng Xiaoping’s thought of utilizing capitalism. We discuss this part from the theoretical and practical dimensions in detail. It means a lot to have deep discussion and analysis of Deng Xiaoping’s utilization of capitalism civilization achievements for our correct understanding capitalism, further deepening reform and opening wider to the firm, the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the development of the Marxism about capitalism.By studying this subject of Deng Xiaoping’s thought about utilizing capitalism, we could conclude that the significance of this article is to provide reference to how to recognize the capitalism correctly, how to deal with the relationship between socialism and capitalism and how to benefit scientifically and utilize from capitalist civilization achievements.
