This paper introduces and comments on defining the relevant market within the field of competition law. In the history it includes the demanding substitution analysis and supplying substitution analysis methods as well as alternative analysis of the hypothetical monopolist test method which is the current mainstream. Through the introduction of the contents of the various methods and the application of the relevant case to show the main differences between the various methods, to describe assumes that the monopolist test run process control analysis is applied in the same case by different methods and discusses the quantitative analysis of the strengths and scientific characteristics. In the theory of comparative and case studies we analysis the intrinsic value of the method of defining the relevant market, and explore the limitations of existing methods and proposed development vision blurred market boundaries. This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter mainly introduces the competition law background of the related market, analyzes the importance of the definition of relevant market to the anti-monopoly and relevant market’s three dimensions. The author will discuss the realistic significance of defining the relevant market activities on the basis of the characteristic and the value of competition law in this part.The second chapter as a clue of the time and as a typical case involves defining the relevant market for the lead, lists the definition of relevant markets and other factors into account. Defined source specific case, we comply with the economic and social development level perspective to evaluate its progressive significance and analysis Inadequacies with the objective view and the reality. Through the observation of the course of development, we have a overall grasp on value pursuit of the method for defining the relevant market. Comparative analysis on a case group with third chapters, we’ll show and discuss the hypothetical monopolist test operation mode and objectivity of advantage in the current mainstream, and point out the probable obstacles which may exist in concrete operation.The fourth chapter firstly analyzes the development trend of the combination in qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis method of defining the relevant market, then puts forward an idea of objectivity of enhancement of the hypothetical monopolist test method under this understanding, in order that the further research can have a contribute to enhance the scientific nature of the relevant market definition method.
