| Since China’s reform and opening up, due to China’s rapid process of urbanization, a large number of rural labor force swarms into the city and becomes floating population in the cities. Whereas their families and the registration could not move with themselves, which separates their jobs from their family life. With the undeveloped social mechanism and great gap of social sources between rural and urban areas, frequent and continuous migration of the rural population causes the problem of left-behind children. The existence of rural and urban dualistic social structure makes many rural children grow alone without parents around. Left-behind children, as a different group from other ordinary children, have presented many problems, which have become a serious social issue. In recent years, the study and life of left-behind children has got extensive attention. The existence of left-behind children causes a big discussion in the society.Rural left-behind children in Wuyang county in Henan province are used as a case study in this paper. The author explains the present situation of the left-behind children, analyzes the causes and finds out the problems in their living conditions, education, mental health. Finally, the author puts forward the related countermeasures and some suggestion.In this paper, the author adopts combination of quality and quantity research method to analyze the problems of the concentrated left-behind children in Wuyang county in Henan province. On the basis of plenty of research achievements in the field, the author’s study will cause extensive concern for left-behind children and then the whole society would solve the problem of rural left-behind children effectively to speed up socialist new rural construction in our country and build a harmonious socialist society. |
