Using Socialist Core Value System To Lead The Construction Of Social Morality

Socialist market economy system of china has been improving since the reform and opening policy was carried out. Now, China has entered the new period of Modernization construction, which is also called the transitional period. The period is mainly manifested in four aspects, reform of economic system, change of social structure, adjustment of social interest structure, conversion of ideology. These series of social transformation have brought great vitality in China, for example, the rapid development economy and society, the great improvement of productivity and people’s living conditions. And the comprehensive national power has been continuously enhanced. But, at the same time, it also lead to diversity of social values, complexity of social and moral conditions and the problems of the moral decline of society. Currently, how to build a higher level of national moral system and address the spiritual crisis has become our supreme mission.In such a severe situation,"building a Socialist core value system" was proposed as important topic and strategic task in the sixth plenary session of the16th Central Committee of the CPC Central Committee, October11,2006. In June2007, general secretary Hu Jintao further emphasized that "Socialist core value system" should be effectively constructed in order to consolidate the common ideological foundation of the whole nation. In November2012, at the18th Party Congress,"Socialist core value system construction" again was proposed as an important task and new deployments and demands were presented. Particularly, promoting socialist core values such as prosperity, democracy, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, patriotism, professionalism, integrity, and kindness were stressed. These important decisions and plans are of great theoretical and practical significance in socialism core value system leading social moral construction.This article uses Marxist historical materialism and dialectical methods, Mao Zedong thought, Deng Xiaoping theory and the "three represents" as the fundamental research method. Multidisciplinary and comprehensive methods, such as, Marxism, ethics, and sociology are used for cross-interdisciplinary research. Combining theory and practice, we concluded the concept and content of socialist core value system and core value and dialectically analyzed the intrinsic logic between Socialist core value system and social moral construction. On the basis of detailed analyzed, we discussed the urgency and necessity of current social moral construction, listed the status quo and causes of the moral decline phenomenon and proposed relatively innovative specific ways of how core value system leading the construction of social moral.
