In1940s, a wave of democratization tide swept the vast number of developing countries. In1980s, this democratization of "third wave" had been covering the vast majority of Southeast Asian countries. However, Burma, as a member of countries in Southeast Asia, is complicated. World leaders cannot let the regime’s mirage of democracy to continue while Burma’s people still suffer under authoritarian rule. The promise of democracy in Burma must be genuinely fulfilled.
