The Influence Of The Self-efficiency On The Social Adaptation Of The New Generation Of Migrant Workers

In the past three decades, in the circumstances, which the Chinese economy has been sustained developed while the system of the urban-rural dual structure has not been fundamentally changed, the flood of migrant workers continued to spread. Nowadays a large rural population, who were born after1980s and1990s, begin along the footsteps of their parents to go to modern metropolises in order to realize their dreams, and gradually form a special group-the new generation of migrant workers. Although compared to their parents they have made a great progress in terms of the level of education, the understanding of life and ways of thinking, they have to face the same environment of life and social situation, when they move away from the original cultural groups and seek their dreams. The special man-made barriers and institutional obstacles of urban communities make it difficult for them to integrate into and adapt to the society. To the contrary to the current research on the social adaptation of the new generation of migrant workers remaining mostly in the level of policy and institution, this paper does not make an effort to focus on the review of this research, but aims at finding a new perspective to resolve the problem of the social adaptation of the new generation of migrant workers.As Bandura said, belief can regulate the individual’s own thoughts, feelings and actions. Human being is not only shaped by the external environment, but is also self-organizing, self-reflecting, and self-regulating. Based on this, the study attempts to departure from the mechanism of the subjective motivation of human and to further the research on the social adaptation of the new generation of migrant workers.This study bases on the self-efficiency as a core element, aims to find a relationship between self-efficiency and social adaptation and achieves the following conclusions by investigation and analysis:1.The social adaptation and the self-efficiency of the new Generation of Migrant Workers lie at a low level;2. The social adaptation and self-efficiency of the new Generation of Migrant Workers have a significant positive correlation;3. The self-efficiency can predict the level of the social adaptation of the new generation of migrant workers perfectly.
