The Theory And Practice Path Of Cultivating Legal Consciousness Of Citizen In China

Citizens legal system consciousness, as a manifestation of a citizen culture, is a rule of law consciousness of the people in the relation between right and obligation. With the development of civil society and modernization of law in china, a number of experts believe that cultivating the legal consciousness of citizen is one of the key points of Chinese society for future development. In the process of building a socialist country ruled by law, Chinese government has being achieved in cultivating the legal consciousness of citizens. However, as the reason of historical tradition, cultural concept, political system and the quality of citizen etc.. many problems still be affected: audience uneven, nurture mechanisms are inadequate, irrational understanding for the rule of law conscousness.We analyze the problems of cultivating legal conscousness of citizen from the point of view with diverse dimension, which need much more effective methods. Focusing on the reality of the contemporary Chinese citizen awareness of the rule of law is weak, this paper analyzed and discussed it by four chapters. In the part of introduction, the background of study, research status, research idea and study methods are presented, which is pave the way for cultivating the legal consciousness of citizen. In the chapter one, many concepts were defined:citizen, civil society, the consciousness of rule of law;and structure and function of the legal consciousness of citizen were summarized. Chapter two presented Chinese government should absorb in the results of western the law civilization and take advantage of own cultural tradition, by comparing the theory and practice of cultivating legal consciousness of citizen in china with that of western countries. Chapter three discussed the dilemma of cultivating legal consciousness of citizen in china and analyzed the reasons, determined the goal of cultivating legal consciousness of citizen in china. Chapter four, as a main point, discussed the theory and practice path of cultivating legal consciousness of citizen in china, and presented that cultivating legal consciousness of citizen should make revolution in an all-round way in system, concept, education and idea fields,on the basis of shaping the personality of political and law of citizen, and on the goal of cultivating Chinese legal belief of citizen.
