Now the media in the dissemination of information and public opinion supervision plays an increasingly important role, with the innovation of technology, electronic media has entered the homes of ordinary people, the print media, radio, television, the Internet is a powerful media network, browse news may have become a required course for many people every day, now the media as an important force for social supervision, on the social problem gradually wide coverage, which can cause some problems, is likely to lead to media tort. With the increase of people’s rights consciousness, more and more reports of the interviewees think that the content of news report violations of their personal rights (the right of reputation, privacy and so on) and the media to play "the lawsuit". In the news media reported that some related to the reputation right of citizens, but the news media tort has its special place, it can not be completely regarded as general tort. In order to ensure public rights, such as right of supervision, the right to know, and so on, the law should be to the media for special protection to safeguard the freedom of the press. The actual situation according to the development of journalism, news of the news media on the dispute, correct driving right of supervision by public opinion correctly running rights issues were discussed, the existing laws in China news infringement cognizance standard on the legislation is not perfect or lack of facts. By comparison of the tort liability law and news tort with the difference, causes the news media reputation infringement closely, analysis of such cases frequently causes and solutions, the constitutional right to free speech, the right of supervision by public opinion, citizen’s reputation right some rights are more scientific, more reasonable protection.
