The21st century is an information explosion of the Internet era. Peopleincreasingly rely on the Internet to create electronic life with the development ofnetwork technology. However, china faces more and more public crisis as it is intransition period and a variety of crisis frequently appear in different areas of our livesdue to changes in the environment at home and abroad. The crisis control becomesmore and more difficult in this information explosion of the Internet era. So in such acrisis-ridden era, how should the government make good use of online media todevelop a scientific and efficient crisis public relations strategy has become animportant issue placed in front of academia and those in power.This paper studied the government crisis public relations strategy under theenvironment of network media based on new demands and challenges brought byonline media environment for China’s government crisis. Firstly, the paper reviewedthe research status of domestic and foreign government crisis public relations. Itdescribed not only the concept of network media and government crisis publicrelations but also the related theory. Secondly, the paper analysed the current situationof the development of network media in our country, information disseminationcharacteristic of network media and government crisis information disseminationchannels. It summed up both positive and negative impact on the government crisisbrought by China’s current network media environment. Thirdly, the paper analyzedthe specific performance of the government crisis public relations work in the7·23Yong Wen high-speed rail crash and analysed network public opinion of the crisisusing a large number of statistical data. In addition, it summed up the shortcomingsand mistakes of the government crisis public relations work in the face of the currentnetwork media environment and the common problem of the government crisis in theonline media environment. Fourthly, the paper put forward the strategy of thegovernment crisis in the online media environment by means of monitoring and earlywarning network public opinion, collecting network information of public opinion, setting opinion leaders and agenda building and establishing e-government platformwith network marketing ideas.This paper proposed the strategy of the government crisis in the online mediaenvironment by analyzing the problems of our government in crisis public relationswork in the online media environment and its causes. It not only provides a usefulguidance for development of government crisis public relations, but also has certaininstructive and referential significance for the research of government crisis publicrelations in the network media environment.
