Teacher professional development is the frontier topic of current education reform and education sustainable development in the world, at present teacher professional development in China mainly inspects teachers’professional skills with the view of tool rationality, while little attention is paid to teachers’intrinsic and core spiritual quality, especially the development and cultivation of teachers’critical spirits. Critical spirit is the core feature of innovation spirit, which is not only the comprehensive embodiment of personal thinking quality but also the important embodiment of people’s humanistic spirit. But due to the oppression, digestion and twist of political, economic, cultural and some other aspects and restriction of teachers’individual roles and knowledge structure, the middle school teachers’critical spirits in our country are in a state of decline. Cultivation of middle school teachers’critical spirit is conducive to the professional development of teachers, benefit for students’critical spirit development and establishing a foundation to cultivate innovative talents and conducive to the formation of a fair and democratic society. Only with the common efforts of society, school, education training institutions and teachers themselves, can teachers’critical spirits be promoted.The paper is composed by four main sections, the first section is the introduction, which aims to elaborate the research background and significance, research ideas and methods as well as the domestic and foreign literature review on teachers’critical spirit.The second section elaborates the concept of the middle school teachers’critical spirit and the main embodiments of middle school teachers’critical spirit.The third part section analyses and summarizes the interview investigation for the middle school teachers and students, elaborates the specific embodiment of declining critical spirit, analyses the objective factors and teachers’individual factors of the decline of middle school teachers’critical spirit.The fourth section elaborates the theoretical basis of reconstructing middle school teachers’ critical spirit. Through theoretical analysis and investigation, put forward the related countermeasures of reforming of middle school teachers’critical spirit.
