The Investigation Of The Probability Of High School Students Learning Problems

The introduction of the history of knowledge of probability theory as a mathematical teaching content is comparatively short, the probability in the secondary school curriculum in and out, resulting in the probability of the development of teaching and learning is not perfect, the probability of teaching problems are gradually exposed, in particular, reflect the students’ learning. Therefore, in order to help students studying the probability better and really grasp the probability of thinking, I select3the problems of high school students in the probability of learning to research and analysis.This study is based on high school students for the inspection object, investigated the problems they understand the sense of probability and random variables and their numerical characteristics. Through the literature review and classroom observation of the situation I find out the typical errors of students, and reference materials and information to prepare questionnaire. The survey results and interviews show that, high school students have the following problems:when students learning the statistical definition of probability, mistakenly believe that the probability is the average, approximation or limit of frequency; Some students still exists errors, such as outcome approach, negative recency and positive recency, equiprobability bias and so on; The students can’t correctly understand the meaning expressed by the discrete random variables and their numerical characteristics, the learning process emphasis on the mechanical calculation too much; Students can not accurately establish the probability model, and lack the basic intuition of probability and a high simulation capacity when they confronted with the probability of the problem.Based on the above findings, finally I made some suggestions for high school mathematics teachers and teaching.
