Path Choice Of Promoting Public Spirit Of College Students In New Ages

Public spirit is an important embodiment of evaluating the populace’s cultivation and social morality. It can also measure the degree of nationality civilization. As a learning group which has wider knowledge, young college students have come to the stage of undertaking the responsibility of lives. The degree of public spirit of them involves how to bear the historical mission and, to a certain extent, what the social value orientation will be in the future of decades. College students’public spirit ascension is an important force in promoting social governance and an internal demand of building a harmonious culture and fostering civilized atmosphere. College students’public spirit ascension is the necessary condition of being qualified citizen and the construction of harmonious society. The study of college students’public spirit involves a nation’s development in the future and has significant and profound significance to achieve the comprehensive construction well-off society and realize the grand goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.The thesis analyzed the current situation of public spirit of college students from eight core aspects including patriotism, democratic concept of legal system, justice idea, participation and responsibility consciousness, credit and gratitude consciousness, cooperation manner, independent personality spirit, social morals consciousness, self-discipline and service consciousness,etc. This study took2000students of Jiaozuo teachers’college as an example of the present situation of the public spirit questionnaire survey research and summarized the present situation of college students’public spirit.Currently most college students present active and healthy situation and have independent thought and value themselves more than the society. They have positive public attitude and contradictorily they have action lag. They lack self-dicipline and rational knowledge. All this can be due to the impact of traditional culture, market economy, foreign culture, social and family education, school education, college students’self-cognitive level. On the basis of listing the reasons of lacking public spirit among college students, the author pointed out the path choice of promoting college students’public spirit which are to strengthen college students’cultivation of the humanistic spirit,to broaden public life space and provide public practice, to build college students’correct values with the media culture infiltration, to enhance students’moral situation with teachers’and intellectuals’effective influence and moral behavior model of officials and social elite.
