Research On The Cultivation Path Of Contemporary College Students’ Public Spirit

The value of public spirit lies in the individual citizens’ positive recognition and conscious practice of a series of values such as public order,public affairs,public interests and public responsibilities in the public sphere.College students are one of the most dynamic subjects among the citizens.Their public consciousness,public care,and acceptance and practice of public participation directly affect the development of a harmonious socialist society and the realization of the Chinese dream.Therefore,it is very important to study the ways of cultivating the public spirit of college students.Its goal is to cultivate the positive identification and conscious practice of the public spirit of college students,and finally to take the public spirit as the criterion to guide themselves in handling public affairs.Through the interview and questionnaire survey of 800 undergraduates and postgraduates in five universities in Hebei province,the paper concludes that the public consciousness of contemporary college students is increasingly strong,and they have a strong consciousness of public care and public participation.However,their public spirit also has deficiencies,such as negative public political consciousness,conformity of public care and utilitarianism of public participation.The causes of these problems can be attributed to the four aspects of college students themselves,their families,college education and society.In order to provide better guidance and help for the cultivation of the public spirit of college students,this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures from three ways: improving the consciousness of the cultivation of the public spirit of college students,perfecting the education and management mode of college students,and optimizing the environment for the cultivation of the public spirit of college students.
