Since the mid-1980s, along with the tide of market-oriented reform, a largenumber of migrant workers have begun to emerge. Up to now, after30years ofsurging, the total amount of migrant workers is increasing, and there is a clearpolarization in its interior, the new generation of migrant workers has graduallybecome the main force of the migrant workers.Compared with the first generation of migrant workers, the new generation ofmigrant workers is younger and more dynamic, they have a higher educational leveland stronger ability to adapt to the new environment, to accept new things. Thereforetheir competitive advantages are also stronger. Their motivation of outer dispatchedshows diversification trend of development-oriented. Their self-awareness and rightsawareness become stronger, and "tourism style" working mode and short-term trendsare more and more obvious and widespread in this group. These characteristics andtends, together with external force make the social identity of the new generation ofmigrant workers fuzzy, and this not only affects their behavior choices, but alsohampers their social integration. This study uses the method of combining questionnaire and case interview, taking Changchun City as an example, using sociological theory and related research, analysis the social identity condition of the new generation of migrant workers fromself-identity, city identity, local identity and the future vesting four aspects, thenconstructs a social identity model of the new generation of migrant workers bycombining with internal and external factors, in order to describe and explain theirsocial identity. We find that, because of the discrepancy between social construction andself-construction, the social identity of the new generation of migrant workers hasbeen caught in a dilemma. Specifically, the separation and asynchronous conversion of occupational identity and domicile identity, have made the identity of the newgeneration of migrant workers blurred; despite of strong social integration sense, because of lacking social integration mechanisms, as well as social distance with cityresidents, they are still unable to form consistent identity to the city; spending longtime living and working in the city, they are also increasingly stripped with rural life,so their local identity gradually becomes weakened; for future plans, the newgeneration of migrant workers still lack clear positioning, so their future vesting isconfused. The solution to the social identity dilemma of the new generation of migrantworkers requires all sectors of society work together. Specifically, the new generationof migrant workers should strive to improve their own quality, enhance the adaptationand integration to the city; members of society need increase tolerance and acceptanceconsciousness, so as to create a relaxed social environment for the new generation ofmigrant workers; relevant departments should begin to improve social security systemto strengthen the interests protection of the new generation of migrant workers.
