Teaching is a complex process, covering plenty of aspects, among which the teaching design comes first because it plays an important role in whether the teaching process is effective or not. Above all, in order to make a teaching activity effective, we should make careful, meticulous teaching designs which can be tested by practice.To fulfill the basic connotation of effective teaching and meet with the beneficial, efficient and attractive teaching principles, this research explores design of classroom teaching for junior high school students by examining the leading-in, the presentation of new knowledge, the feedback, the summarization of the lesson and giving assignments.The paper consists of three parts. The first part presents the background of the research, illustrating the objectives, the significance and the methodology of the research. The second part reviews the previous studies on effective teaching home and abroad. The third part analyzes the procedures of history classroom teaching.
