The modern school become paying much attention to the guidance function, westerncountries especially the United States has established a better guidance system. Comprehensivehigh school in the United States have a dedicated instructor and independent guidance agencies,but our high school has very little play to the functions of guidance, and few dedicatedinstructors and guidance systems, although the Head teacher as a tutor of student in name, but itsguidance responsibilities are often missing. Why High school in China appeared thesephenomena, Student Guidance is exactly subjected by which factors, and exist which problems,Why the guidance duties of Head teacher can’t be achieved, and how to improve.Based on the above problems, firstly, this paper through the Historical Survey of ChinaStudent Guidance responsibility system, to clarify its developmental context, found that there aredifferent forms of guidance responsibility system exist in the early Republic China, the MayFourth period and Anti-Japanese War, and these guidance system mutual contact, showing agradual evolution. Then analyzed the system of class supervisor of New China, find someproblems, pointed out the dilemma of Student Guidance in the system of class supervisor.Secondly, investigate the course of development of the Student Guidance, American in AmericanComprehensive high school, it including three stages: formation, development and maturity.Found the formation of the Student Guidance has a trace of association with guidance of earlyRepublic China, May Fourth period, and Anti-Japanese War. And describe the origin,responsibilities, and characteristics of the Tutor System, found that guidance in AmericanComprehensive high school is high degree of specialization, specialized guidance teachers andindependent guidance system through contrast the system of class supervisor in China with theguidance mode of the American Comprehensive high school. Found the concept of guidance isclear, counseling staff professional and the guide is rich in content by analysis the guidance ofU.S. Comprehensive high school. Finally, analysis the difference of reasons about China with theUnited States of Student Guidance difference on the perspective of cultural and social conditions,found that there are some traits not conducive to the development of guidance in China’straditional culture, however, individualism and pragmatism in American tradition cultureprovides a natural soil with the guidance of the individual, freedom of composition. Through theanalysis of the causes, put forward a number of measures and proposals of how to improveStudent Guidance in our high school.
