The Spatial Distribution Of The Urban Poor And The Mechanism Analysis In Wuhan City, China

Since the late1990s, along with the intensification of market-oriented economic system transition and industrialization transformation of social structure, the situation of the urban residents in China rich-poor divide is deepening, an increasing number of residents into poverty. And so the background, this paper selected Wuhan City, as the study area, the disciplines based on economics, sociology and theories of urban geography, ArcGIS software technical support, based on relevant statistics, the Home statistical data, images, and survey data, researched from the macro on the current situation of urban poverty in Wuhan City, including the spatial distribution and evolution of a comprehensive analysis, and then combined with the typical regional field research so that have a depth understanding of the microscopic characteristics of the urban poor space. On this basis, to explore the formation mechanism of the urban poor space of Wuhan.The main conclusion is reflected in the following three aspects:(1) Wuhan Urban poverty status quoThe size of the urban poor in the expansion of the urban poor constitute a more diverse and complex, in addition to the traditional "three officers" also produced a new urban poor constitute the main part of the laid-off workers, the unemployed and migrant workers. This class of young, relatively low level of education, poor family, involved in a wide range of career types, low levels of income and consumption, and lower quality of life the basic structural features.(2) Wuhan City, the urban poor spatial distribution and evolutiona) Wuhan City, the urban poor space in general performance characteristics of the spatial distribution of the scattered punctate. And is mainly concentrated in the core area of the inner city and peripheral areas. Only on the spatial scale of the streets, the streets of a small number of poor population is relatively concentrated, but the gathering is not high.b) With the continuous development of the socio-economic, Wuhan City, the poor inter-district spatial distribution of the relative differences continue to decrease, and the poor spatial clustering situation must improve. In general, the spatial distribution of the urban poor, mainly in the inner city core area, but with the trend of the evolution of diffusion by inward City peripheral and suburban areas.(3) The microscopic characteristics of the spatial distribution about urban poorInvestigation of Wuhan City, the urban poor areas inhabited by field visits from the micro level, specific analysis of this class of settlement pattern and layout mode, and so summed up the three types of settlement pattern of the poorer classes, namely, recession of the old city, city village and peri-urban area.
