Study On The Mode Of Aged-Supporting For Empty-Nest Families In Rural Areas

With the development of social economy and improvement of people’s living standard, living condition in the rural areas has become better and people’s lifestyle has changed, especially the large rural population migration of young adults in the process of industrialization and urbanization has caused "Urban and rural amphibious". The elders in the family are getting old, which has resulted in lots of empty-nesters. The problems of living condition of the rural empty-nesters, what risks and difficulties exist and whether the rural traditional old-age security mode can make the aged lead a happy life attract the attention of the society and need responses urgently. The17th Congress of the CPC came up with the strategic objective of "providing the elderly with a sense of security", and the5th Plenary Conference of17th Central Committee of the CPC brought up the policy of "giving priority to the development of social endowment service". Focusing on empty-nest families and studying the problems of empty-nesters especially the pension problem of rural empty-nesters have become an inevitable issue. Innovation and development of aged-supporting mode of rural empty-nesters have become an extremely urgent question.With the targeted and systematic field investigation and normative research method, this paper takes the empty-nesters in Annan Township of Qingyuan County as research object and studies the formation of empty-nest families which resulted from the reform of rural economic system, the family planning policy, aging of population, urbanization and so on. On this basis, I do field investigation and policy analysis of rural aging-supporting condition from three aspects of financial support, daily care and mental comfort, find the weakening of family aged-supporting function of empty-nesters and heavy responsibilities for formation of social aged-supporting mode, and analyze its influencing factors from two aspects of family and social support. At last, in order to take active measures to solve the aged-supporting problems of empty-nest families in rural areas, this paper comes up with diversified family aged-supporting pattern based on the combination of theory and rural reality in our country, and discusses the ways to each subject of the mode. We hope that a certain characteristic and practical aged-supporting pattern will be formed and rural empty-nesters will be provided with a sense of security and enjoy a happy life.
