Sixteenth Women’s Volleyball World Championships Foreign Collusion Setter Comparative Study Of Athletic Ability

With the development of volleyball, the rules, techniques and tactics of volleyball havebeen changed greatly. Recently, the whole level of volleyball match including confrontationability, attack-defense speed, and various playing styles is increasing. Requirements forathletes’quality especially competition ability are becoming more and more improving. Thecompetition ability includes physical ability, tactics ability and metal ability. Thus, athletes’performance and their psychological quality under passive situation are determined bycompetition ability in the match.Aid setter in volleyball teams is formed in the transformation from“4-2”disposal to“5-1”disposal. The role of aid setter is increasingly outstanding because of its special position.Aid setter can determine the outcome of a match because it has become a core and the mainscore point in some high level teams. The competition ability of aid setter involves almosttheir all aspects of ability.In recent years, the volleyball match shows that aid setter can be divided into a strengthtype of aid setter and a comprehensive type according to their different responsibility androles. Strength-type aid setter has great and strong stature, perfect ability of attacking andblocking. However, their receiving and rear defensive abilities are limited. Their performanceis characterized by a great number of the attack, a high success rate, a widely offensive zonecovering almost field of each location. The type has been used in some top teams from Europeand America, such as Russia and Brazil. The comprehensive type of aid setter in technologyand tactics is overall and changeable and running attack ability is also strong, but thefixed-point attack ability and absolute offensive capability are weak. However, generaldefense abilities are better by the team’s running attack and defense to compensate for theweakness of their own offensive capability in a transmission system of Asian team, such asChina and Japan.Chinese women’s volleyball team is the 10thone in the World Championship which isthe worst record since 1974’s. Aid setter in Chinese women’s volleyball team belongs to thecomprehensive type. It makes the three attacks change to two attacks in the front of gamefield, and often appear continuous“card of the wheel”phenomenon. Therefore, domesticexperts once propose change the type of aid setter finished first, in order to adapt to the current trend of the world women’s volleyball.The competitive ability of aid setters between Chinese team and foreign teams will becompared in this paper by using of literature and video statistics, expert interview andcomparative analysis methods. This paper will also study the advantages and disadvantages ofaid setters in Chinese women’s volleyball team, and give the following suggestions based onanalysis of the present situation of the aid setters.1. The use of scientific means to strengthen the physical training.2. Strengthen technical basic skills practice to strengthen the comprehensive technical.3 Innovate and improve the attack tactics of aid setters.4. Strengthen cultivate reserve athletes as aid setter by making a long-term plan.
