Using multivariate analysis to carry out an investigation of the technical and tactical characteristics of all 64 matches in the 19th soccer World Cup of Top 32 teams, the research draws conclusions as follows:1.This tournament skills and tactics can be attributed to seven aspects, that is the control capability for game, wing offensive capability, defensive capability, goalkeeper capacity, the overall thrust capability, force capability in free ball and capacity of free kick.2.Control capability for game is largest statistic weight in all skills and tactics, which is key for won.3.From superiority result of the game we learn that: when the capacity of free kick improve a spot, the probability of draw will be increased to the original 1.477 times; when control capability for game improve a spot, the probability of won will be increased to the original 1.809 times. In the actual combat of football match, technical and tactical arrangements need to adjust according to the aim of match result. The treatment of the free kick should be pay more attention in the game for the purpose to draw, while control capacity for game improve should be improved the in the match for the purpose to win the game.4.Defensive capability and capacity of free kick is an important guarantee to get past the group stage, in which defensive capability is more important, when defensive capability for game improve a spot, the probability to get past the group stage will be increased to the original 2.533 times. In 16 into 8 knockout stages, teams should improve the ability of control for game, defensive capability and the overall thrust capability, which can respectively increase the probability to get past the group stage to the original 2.555、3.117、1.909 times, when these capabilities for game improve a spot. There is no quite difference of skills and tactics among Asia and Africa, North and Central America, Oceania.
