Stanley Fish is an American literary theorist and legal scholar. He is the importanttheorist of the reader-response criticism now. His critical theory is known to Chinesereaders. All along, Stanley Fish mainly focuses on literary theory and legal studies. Heleft the United States Duke University in1998and shifted to the University of Illinoisat Chicago, and served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and College, who started to payattention to the theory of higher education.
