Geography classroom discussion can foster students ’learning ability, innovation,presentation, etc., can also help students learn how to communicate with others, cooperation,play an important role in the formation of students’ personality and character.The newcurriculum reform advocates to carry out the geography classroom discussion, but due to thelong-term effects of exam-oriented environment, the teachers’ concept can not be rapidlychanging and the pursuit of high enrollment rate, In addition, the students due to a long periodof passive listening position is difficult to change "passive" to "active, the author summed upthe secondary school geography classroom through practice and reading reference materials,discussion exists about the problem:One,the purpose of the geography classroom discussion isnot clear;Two,Geography classroom discussion is unreasonable or of novalue;Three,Organizing classroom discussion have problems;Four,Geography teachers lackthe guidance of scientific;Five,Geography teachers lack the appropriate summary andevaluation;Six,Effective little of the students in the geography classroom discussion;Afterfound the problem,I take questionnaire and literature reading and proposed improvementmeasures in a secondary school geography class discussion:One, shift teachers teachingconcepts;Two, to create a good atmosphere of class discussion; Three, the rational form oforganization;Four, select a reasonable topic; Five, enhance the guidance of the teachers tostudents;Six, timely class discussion to summarize and evaluate.Should be noted that in someplaces in the geography classroom discussion and cases cited.I hope this paper can helpteachers successfully expand the geography classroom discussion, find out the true meaningof geographic class discussion, to improve the teaching level of teachers. In addition, theauthor summed up the connotation of geography class discussion, research status, purpose andsignificance, in principle, as well as the geography classroom discussions organizations form.
