Olympic Games was originated in ancient Greek, it is an international sportswhich held once every four years. Olympic Games derives its name from Olympiawhere the first Olympic Games was held and now become a symbol of peace andfriendship. Olympics games with the exciting matches, dynamic visual feast, powerfulpropaganda offensive, has become the world’s most vast momentum cultural andrecreational activities. The Olympic culture and the Olympic spirit accumulated fromthe previous Olympics together constitute today’s society brilliant sports and culturallandscape. as a part of the Olympic Games, The Olympic mascot is not only thecombination of the colors of the national culture and natural geographical features ofthe host country, but also the promotion and the inheritance of the Olympic spirit.The word mascot means the people or things which can bring good luck andpropitious. Olympic Mascots are animal prints representing the host country ascreation of prototype processed through the art of animal shapes, characters, orabstract art image. Review of previous Olympic Games mascot, the host countries areracking their brains to create the mascot with vivid appearance and profoundconnotation, to attract the eyes of the world, introduce the natural landscape andhistorical culture of the host countries and to spread the Olympic spirit.The affect ofprevious Olympic mascots in the area of sports, economy, society, politics, culture,art, and information transfer of the contemporary world can not be ignored, Itsunique cultural charm pleasant people physically and mentally, Its unique culturalcharm pleasant people physically and mentally, also expands in economic, politicaland cultural aspects of the contact between the nations all over the world. This articlestudies the Olympic mascot from the cultural perspective, by the characteristics of theprevious Olympic mascots and cultural interpretation, to explore the culturalimplication and the spiritual connotation of the Olympic mascot by the2008BeijingOlympic mascot Fuwa, letting people to enjoy mascot of the Olympic Games at thesame time to understand the national and cultural differences between the East and theWest, providing a reference for the future Olympic mascot creations.
