Mathematics education round-table conference reached a basicconsensus-to make students mathematical logical reasoning abilitycultivation as the central task of the mathematical education-in the24th international congress of mathematicians. Mathematics educationexperts from many countries discussed a lot about current teachingsituation of logical reasoning ability in mathematics. The commonconcern was that people pail less attention to logical reasoning andproof in basic education. Great emphasis should be placed on twoaspects. On the one hand, pupils reasoning ability also can bedeveloped effectively by solving word problems in primary school. Onethe other hand, after the second phase of curriculum reform inShanghai, grade-five students ability of dealing with word problemsdegraded when compared with previous pupils. And also wordproblems scared many pupils.In view of the above situation, this study starts from word problemsof elementary class to make respect a teaching design according tothe following three levels: one-step word problems, two-stepcomprehensive word problems and complex word problems. All this isto enhance students reasoning ability and improve their status oflearning word problems.One-step word problems helps students know the structure of wordproblems and build word problems model by using the fourfundamental operations of arithmetic. In two steps of thecomprehensive problem structure among teaching, students are ableto make use of the established models and the acquired capacities ofreplenishing conditions or questions in one-step word problems to solvethe two-step comprehensive word problems.We help students to find the fulcrum of thinking to deal with questions on teaching the complex comprehensive word problems, forexample, finding proper relationship, drawing diagram and tabulationhelp students understand questions and develop students thinkingability. The essence of all the above methods is the application of thecombination of graphics and digital and of Maths transformationthoughts.All the above three levels of word problems teaching designing willconcentrate on improving students thinking ability and emphasize moreon guidance about learning methods, furnishing word problemsteaching with proper ways in elementary school.
